I admire bloggers – especially mommy bloggers – who take on this challenge and see it through to the end. Basically, the rules are to write a blog post every freakin day for 30 days, with weekends off.
Believe me, I’ve given this challenge an honest try – three times at least. Even signed up for the official national bloggers’ challenge (or whatever) in the past. But the task always seemed SO damb daunting. I think the furthest I’ve gotten was a day.
I don’t think I even posted my entry after I wrote it. So basically, I didn’t participate in this event.
Despite how it sounds… I love writing. It’s how I best communicate and express myself… yet, I don’t do it enough. So I made a decision (Tony Robbins style) and burned the boat… to write every single day for the next THREE days.
You’re laughing and rolling your eyes, I know it… but I don’t care. Because as far as I know, I’ve never posted three consecutive days on this blog – EVER.
The simple psychology behind this is… three days of writing is far from intimidating (and it doesn’t make me feel trapped and suffocated even before I’ve started)… and my plan is to extend this challenge for another three days after I’ve completed my initial three days.
And perhaps that will inspire me to extended it yet again for five days… then seven… fourteen… thirty… (ok, I feel the anxiety sneaking up so I take the future planning back.)
I’m going to count this as day #1. I was going to wait til next Monday to get this started (first day of new week) but then I know I’ll forget or change my mind. So Tuesday it is!
Let the writing begin!
P.S. Lemme know what you think!
